Welcome and thank you for your interest in volunteering. Volunteering is a rewarding and fun experience. There are many ways to help the GCHS Shark Marching Band: Board and Chair positions, Chaperoning, Equipment, Concessions, Uniforms, and Fund Raising. Everyone is welcome and needed! We do ask that you wear a Marching Band T-Shirt or a Band Polo shirt (any year). You will also need to wear your volunteer badge so students and staff can easily identify you. Below are the instructions on how to get your volunteer badge. Current CCPS staff members are required to fill out a volunteer application form and wear the volunteer badge. Your CCPS id is not accepted.

Marching Band Apparel – to order band apparel please contact Liz Carroll. We do require all of our volunteers to wear a band shirt to help identify us easily.
Working Non-varsity football concessions rules: You must have worked at least 1 Varsity football game or volunteered more than 25 hours working in another capacity as a volunteer during the varsity football games (approval in needed by Liz Carroll for this option please email her directly GCHSBandVolunteers@gmail.com) and your band student must work with you. Your student is only excused if they have a GCHS band event, such as rehearsal or concert during the entire time you are scheduling to work. Any deviation from this does require approval from Liz Carroll. Your student having a test the following day or another sports practice/game does not qualify as an excuse.
We welcome any and all badged parents willing to volunteer their time to work any of the requested events, volunteer hours will be given. However we can only credit a students account for the time worked if they have worked the concession event, unless prior approval has been given by Liz Carroll email@example.com.
OPEN CHAIR POSITIONS

Concession – Responsible for maintaining scheduling, inventory, purchasing of all items needed for running concessions. Responsible for maintaining cash boxes and reporting to board treasurer inventory totals. Concessions must remain clean at all times. Concessions is required to be open for all home football games, all basketball games, all soccer games and all lacrosse games. Special events are added in from time to time such as wrestling tournaments, track meets, MPA. – All Year (team helps to split this up)
Corresponding Secretary – Responsible for weekly emails distributed through Charms. Responsible for writing letters of Thanks to companies/individuals making donations to the band.
Sharkettes – Responsible for promoting, registering this event. You will keep detailed information on who has registered so that proper student credit can be given. Order t-shirts for the girls in the program. Recruit volunteers to help on practice days and the night of the event. Work with Auxiliary Coach so all plans can be ironed out prior to the event.
