Weekly update including apparel order

What a week for our kids. They looked and sounded amazing at the Edison Light Festival Parade. A huge thank you goes out to the volunteers who came out to get all of the lights installed. What an exhausting couple of weeks but so worth it seeing them march. We have more work to do to get everything ready for San Antonio. Watch for details. We had a lot of questions about the shirts available for purchase now. Please be sure to read the entire message, details provided. This is your last chance.

Fund raising meeting: A fund raising meeting has been scheduled for Monday, February, 19 at 6:30PM in the band room. If you are interested in helping with the bands fund raising events please come. This is your chance to provide input into the fundraisers that will be student share! This meeting will help map out what fundraisers are done next year, including Sharkettes, banners & Prism.

Monday, February 19:

  • Fund raising Meeting 6:30PM in the Band Room

Tuesday, February 20:

  • Wind Ensemble rehearsal 2:30 – 4:30PM, Symphonic Winds rehearsal 5 – 7PM

Wednesday, February 21:

  • Pre-MPA – Concert Band call time 2:05PM, performs at 2:30PM – done by 3:30PM
  • Symphonic Winds – call time 2:30, performs at 3PM – done by 4PM – concert dress required
  • Symphonic Band – call time 3PM, performs at 3:30PM – done by 4:30PM – concert dress required
  • Wind Ensemble – call time to be announced to the kids, expect around 6PM





Tuesday, February 20 – Girls Basketball – Regional Semi-Final – 2 parent/student teams needed 6PM – 8PM. Click here to sign up.

Tuesday, February 20 – Boys Lacrosse – 2 Games – 1 parent/student team needed 4:30PM – 8:15PM. Click here to sign up.

Wednesday, February 21 – Mini concession (drink, chips, candy for Pre-mpa in the auditorium. A couple of chaperon’s and general workers are needed for this event as well. Click here to sign up.

Saturday, February 24 – Girls Lacrosse, 2 games, 2 Parent/student teams needed, 12PM – 3:30PM, Click here to sign up.


Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, March 7 – 9Concert MPA, GCHS is hosting this event. We offer full concessions out of the cafeteria. We are in need of people to work the grills & fryers as well as working the window. I have split each day into 2 shifts. Please check the schedule now and help out. If each person takes just 1 shift then it’s easy to distribute the work load. Click here to sign up.

If you still have questions about your account please email Mr. Carney directly j.a.carney@att.net. Chaperon’s need to catch up on payments ASAP! If your students has received a new id since we collected in the fall please start sending in copies of those. Mark your calendars for the following dates. Mandatory Chaperon meeting April 2 at 6PM in the band room. Mandatory student/parent meeting for those going on the trip, Thursday, April 5 at 7PM in the auditorium. Mandatory luggage inspection and drop off Saturday, April 21, time tbd, in the band room.




We are a little less than 2 weeks away from completing this drive. We are no where near our goal. This is a huge band and we should be able to collect more shoes than this. We are sitting at 82 bags collected currently. Our goal was 300. We need to exceed 100! Check your closest and gets those shoes sent it.
