Congratulations to all 4 bands for your performance at District MPA this past week. Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Winds are both going to States with their awesome performances. Sending out a great big thank you to all of the volunteers who worked this event. The kids and parents really stepped up and rocked this event. Several parents from the other schools stopped me and thanked us for hosting. They loved our concession selection and loved how friendly everyone was. They were impressed by our campus as well.

San Antonio Trip:
If your students has received a new id since we collected in the fall please start sending in copies of those. Mark your calendars for the following dates. Mandatory Chaperon meeting April 2 at 6PM in the band room. Mandatory student/parent meeting for those going on the trip, Thursday, April 5 at 7PM in the auditorium. Mandatory luggage inspection and drop off Saturday, April 21, time tbd, in the band room.
We will need lots of parent help in the evenings as we prepare for this trip. Please watch for details to see how you can help. We may even be adding more lights. Our trial run at the Edison Light Parade was a big hit.
Every Tuesday evening in April will be Marching Band Practice. Please plan accordingly. Work is never an excuse to miss rehearsals.
Band Booster General Meeting:
Monday, April 2 at 7PM in the band room. We cover the state of the boosters from the year to date and what is planned for the near future. The nomination committee is formally introduced and we begin to introduce candidates for board elections. If you would like to run for any board position please contact members of the nominating committee. Any member in good standing with the band is eligible to run for a board position.

Look for details regarding a new fundraiser to come home soon. We need to get new art work onto our trailers. If you know of any businesses who might be interested in this venture, please have them contact a board member.
Please check the band calendar frequently for changes/additions to the kids schedule. May is very busy for concerts and auditions. As a reminder work is never an excuse for a student to miss a band event. The calendar is published well in advance to allow for students to plan accordingly. A lot of next years calendars is already being published. Start writing down those dates.
I hope you all have an awesome week.
